.
Brother in law just phoned asked I could sort out his electrics when he gets back home end of the week.
he said it was electric problem

sure is he was running late this morning had to leave the site he is on by 11 am. Time they got up
sorted out breakfast got the kids sorted packed up what they did not pack last night and then pulled away.
Ehu still connected .

ripped the socket and wiring right out of the Moho. That’s his Moho not mine .
also a fair bit of damage to the supply box.

he has sorted out the supply box and the owner said it is not the first time it has happened.
anyway he is sorted. And now just got the brother in law to sort when he gets back
ordered a new socket off of eBay .
and also printed this for him . I am sure he will use it.
I already made mine a while ago after reading threads on here about the same topic.

printed and double laminated.

I think his kids were not happy moving to another site and from what he said as soon as they were in and belted they were off. 🤪
Easily done! I did forget to push the step in when I went to panic-buy some diesel last week. Luckily I didn’t kneecap anyone on the way 😀

I nearly did this myself this afternoon but after owning my A-T Apache for 10 years there was this funny alarm sound to warn me! First time I had heard it.

Well I have enough bits to get him sorted all the wiring cable insulation wire the box and a used socket outlet.
along with screws self amalgamating tape sikaflex and all the tools

now looks a road trip for us may be coming up sooner than we had planned. Maybe…..

I will not leave a site without walking a complete lap of the bus. Check all lockers and rear load and of course would trip over the EHU if still attached.
If had his children maybe I would have done the same.
I would have a walk around as well but I have nothing to distract me when packing away. No kids at home now just the wife and our two doggies.

Bad luck to damage both ends , he must have my kind of good fortune 🤔

Glad the site bit was easily resolved 👍

I feel his pain. Only been MH ing for 11 months. Did the same leaving Alcorrin in Spain but thankfully the lead was pointing in the direction we were leaving and only knew when the plug and cable overtook us out of the pitch! I was more concerned with getting out of the pitch avoiding the razor sharp trimmed trees from piercing the roof and windows.

Thankfully no damage and that was the last time we (I) did it. Like the sign on the steering wheel.

I just pull down the drivers sun visor as as soon as I park up. I hate using the bloody things so before I set off I always think to myself why the f did I do that? Ah yes, hook up.

I've got a small Tupperware type pot I put on the gear knob. It is to remind me about EHU but also the security post in my drive. I was terrified that I might forget it one day and drive straight into it. That must have happened to a couple of people I am sure.

Apart from the walk-around, I put stuff on the driver's seat or in front of the speedo - the cover for the water heater, the EHU cable reel bag etc. That way when I sit down I am reminded, even if I forgot to walk.

First officer watches me off the pitch, I've lost, and found, a wheel chock and driven over a water carrier cap before so now we take no chances. 😁

I was always taught by my tugger them moho Father to pull off pitch.. stop.. get out and check pitch for any rubbish, no matter how small, and anything you may have thrown under van and forgotten and luckily not squashed..
Never see anyone else do that.. In van and drive off without so much as a glance back!!

I am forgetful, so I drive off & generally my cup (I like to drink from a chains cup) inevitably falls off the sink (unsurprisingly it used to have an handle & gets regularly replaced) & a locker empties itself on the floor & after 1km (I’m a modern man) I stop clean the mess up, wish I’d finished the coffee & brum, gonna have to do the thrice walk around more tho in future cups are expensive

I hate people like me! No matter how often I'm assured by 'er indoors that everything is locked up and put away I cannot get into the driving seat until I've checked, then do a complete walkaround to make sure I've left nothing attached or lying around. Then as I roll off the pitch I pause to check that all I've left is tyre marks, even when Bren is walking the dog behind me!

I even do it after a rest stop along the way!

update to this thread.

Now sorted I had to get a complete new box fitting easy to replace .as a complete unit.
after me saying I have enough bits around to do it received the photo. It needed a new fitting complete.

so replaced the whole thing wired and checked they were away within an hour.
the sealer never had time to get a skin on it when they left on what he said was going to be another exciting adventure.

👍🏻👍🏻

Let's hope he's taking a longer EHU cable so he can get home safer.

300 miles of EHU cable might not be enough .
do they make an elastic version. Something that pulls him back to the hook up point 😂😂😂😂

I did however give him one of my signs as a reminder.

No picture of damage to van?

Sorry morbid curiosity

Sorry it was not my van and I never gave it a second thought about taking a photo.
also threw the broken stuff in the bin.

Mine I would have taken a few. Sorry .

What I forget, just about everytime that I check the tyres before leaving, is the mirrors! If I bend down to look at the tyre or valve, I stand up and crown myself on one or other or both damned mirrors.

Usually the navigator is part way saying “and mind the mir…” when CRACK! 😂

Me too when fitting the wheel clamp. I never learn o_O

Never walked to the wing mirrors.
but you can have one guess of what I have walked into lots of times and in fact cost two pairs of glasses

a lot of plasters and plenty of swearing. .

It’s not walking into the mirrors that’s my problem. It’s doing something underneath the offending wing-nut extrusions and forgetting their presence before standing up.
I like the orange warning cloth you’ve used. 👍
