During a period of intense car travel and admin nightmare caused by two family bereavements our car battery decided to randomly give up the will to start the car.
Noco was brilliant
On a busy day but passing a big Halfords and against my better judgment I stopped and went in. Get it fixed, swallow your pride, don’t get your hands dirty for once and pay the extra few quid and get it done!
Eventually found a headphones young man pushing keys on a computer and staring intently at a screen.
He eventually grunted “yis mate?”. Not even a glance in my direction.
I explained my need for a battery.
Much sucking of air through teeth and key punching, again with no eye contact at all.
Finally “it’s £258 but we don’t have one and we can’t order it. You need to go to a main dealer.”
I expressed my surprise and was told that it was a stop start battery! Really!
Bought a Varta, delivered next day for £86.
Took ten minutes to fit.
Simples.
