Got me precious van back!

Yes!
Mine is currently in 'the shop' having new solar, a shift of position for the leisure battery so I can have a larger one, some paint repairs (after it was detailed by a so called 'professional' at great expense!), better lights, a dash cam and a couple of other bits and pieces. After 8 years it seems very odd not to have it on the drive. On the up side it's been nice to have the car properly on the drive rather than parked sideways at the end, which is how it needs to be positioned to fit both vehicles on, and I can see trees and down to the building over the road through one of my living room windows, usually obscured by the van.
Due to collect it on Saturday, but the new table top and airbrushed bonnet won't be ready for another few weeks, so the final 'finished product' ::bigsmile: won't be complete until early May. (And there's already 'job 2' in the planning.)

Mines in at the moment with a few more jobs found as work goes on Apart from clutch timing belt water pump ect.
but like a boat there’s no price on safety And what needs doing to be safe has to be done.
it’s the bits I could not do myself. ( not enough tools )
I just said ring me when it’s all done.

I collected my van from the garage yesterday after it went in for new cam belt kit, water pump and MOT. I suffered what can only be described as separation anxiety. Does anyone else worry when their van goes in for servicing and/or repairs?
No, as mine never goes near a garage or dealer unless it is for MOT.

Ah yes, the balmy days of yore when I was nowt but a young lad and carried out all my own repairs to my cars and motorcycles.

Problem is that now when I kneel down to check a tyre pressure, I have to enlist the aid of Mrs Toadifact to get up again☹️

I do not worry when the MH is in our commercial garage for service and repair, because I know they do a good job, do not do unnecessary work and charge very reasonable prices - but that is Poland.

Do not have to worry about 'MOT' any more, now it has had its first one for Polish 'Vintage' registration(only way for RHD >3.5t), but no more required.

I also cannot kneel, since having both full knee replacements. But it still doesn't stop me looking after the car, motorhome, tractor, lawn mowers etc. Only a few years off 80 so may need to get one of the grandsons trained up.:unsure::unsure:

Yep - with our last one - it didn’t matter how many times we told/wrote down instructions to the service guys to follow a system when starting it (the immobiliser was very temperamental if you didn’t). We always got a phone call to say it wouldn’t start after first moving it. Worse than that it would then sulk for a few days and we would have to leave it before going to collect it. If it had had the required few days to rest/sulk it would then start straight away for my hubby and continue to behave until the next service.

The garage eventually cotten on and asked us to move it if at all possible (we would sit in the cafe and drink free cups of coffee for hours)

MOT and service and new discs and pads all round , fortunately the shoes on the handbrake were OK , the bill was a bit ouch but consumables will get consumed !
This month is also habitation check time ( and some little jobs ) so all in all a quite dear month .
Both my garage ( Durley on The Wirral ) and motorhome specialists ( A and E Leisure Northwich ) are outstanding , ( efficient and honest ) so i tend not to worry .
O and did i mention my Lotus is due its service as well 😱
