Norman Smith, BBC journalist with the fixed smile has retired to take longer walks with his dog. Like many others I will miss his Today reports and down to earth observations on political nonsense.

We called him Smiley Smith.
He always came out with such descriptive phrases, colourfu in a good way. Sorry to see him leave, one of the better ones.
