Can any one recommend a good small generator please

Maybe the OP is planning a long ski trip? Solar is not much use in the Alps in the winter.
Yes maybe... but unless he needs it for medical reasons then I hope he never pitches up next to me.!!!

Yes maybe... but as long as it is not required for medical reasons then I hope he never pitches next to me!!

I guess you don’t do the shows, loads of them running there

Oh you bet I do the shows... just look out for the handsome bloke with ear defenders/plugs/fingers in his ears..
But I would disagree with you.. yes there may be some generators but I would say in all my years of "doing the shows" generator use is definitely declining to the point where there is not "loads of them running" any more. !!

It would help to know what dillon wants to power with the generator

Further to my earlier post I'd add that make sure its a gas one which has never had petrol in it, no horrible fumes in the van that way.
I had a nice wee Honda as a backup when stargazing in the forest, I really thought I'd need it, but I sold it after two years of it sitting idle.

I would like to know how many genny's are sitting in garages at home unused because the buyer thot they would REALLY REALLY need one if they were away from a EHU for more than half an hour and then realized the were unnecessary.!!!

Thank for help just like to say I do have a disabled traveler with me and we don’t go on sites and it’s only needed to charge battery
If it's for charging your battery and you intend to use it regularly then if your budget will stretch to it have a look at an Efoy.

dillon Have you determined how long you can go without having to charge your battery and do you camp throughout the year or mainly during the summer?

You anti genny gang obviously not been to motorsport events genies are the norm
Don't think a motorsport event (unless of coarse you are all running "silent" race cars) can be compared to a rally field/THS Or a CL/CS or any other quiet peaceful surrounding.
Let's get this into prospective... at a motorsport event you are there for the buzz and the thrill of engines and noise.... genny's Included.
I have been to many Motorsport events and the genny's do not bother me.... same as when at a music festival the music from next door does not bother me.
BUT NOT ON A QUIET PEACEFUL SECLUDED SITE where all you want is peace and quiet...and not the constant drone of a "silent running generator"

200w solar and lithium... never ever go on EHU and never ever run out of wigglies

I know what you mean about peace and quiet. Then they come back from the pub sit outside their van talking loud and laughing while you’re trying to get to sleep. Then early morning they whoosh bang the sliding door on their panel van to go to the toilet to save using their toilet. Then they moan about a generator running while someone is drying their hair. Yes motorhome people are a funny old lot.

There is a half price on in the classifieds.

Haha, ' woosh bang' yes. Maybe they should make those new electric soft closers compulsory on quiet sites?

Oh deary me Ivory55. Has this gone from the noisy generators to a dig at whoosh bangers..
Watch what you are saying because I am willing to bet there are more whoosh bangers out there than you posh folk in your your ivory gin palaces without the whoosh.
Ps don't gin palace folk come back pished and sit outside at night.

No just pointing out what some think is ok for them annoys others, but all they can think about is generators. I have no idea what an Ivory tower gin palace looks like, or what gin even tastes like. I will have to take your word for it as you seem to know.

I would also recommend the Honda Eu10i, but with gas conversion. Gas avoids the need to carry any petrol - you already have gas.
If you have a Brit van, with electric hob and microwave, the bigger Eu20i would be better still although it's a heavy beast.
Cheaper units may be noticeably noisier and may require petrol to start before switching to gas.
Expect to experience jealousy from those that don't have one.

We had a Dometic Tec 29 underslung generator on a previous van, what a brilliant bit of kit, quiet, reliable, fully integrated, separate stainless fuel tank. Wonderful for winter camping.
