Gaslow bottle replacement as 15 years old what alternatives do i have?

Although our motorhoming style changed a few years back, up to then we would summer travel through anywhere up to 8 Eurozone Countries, over a 5 month period.. Refillable (Gaslow) was essential then, however now like I posted earlier, we restrict our travels, by choice, to Iberia.
Even so we still mix and match our gas types and still enjoy the flexibility of having just one refillable and one standby Spanish cylinder...so far, this has proved to be a very efficient way to travel.. having just gone through winter, heavy usage and now late Spring less demanding..
We lessened the demand on LPG by using our Lithium batteries to power various low wattage cooking appliances...once again this is proving to be a worthwhile option, if there is sufficient Solar to support this type of power..🇪🇦🚴🚴😎
Very comprehensive answer many thanks

To be clear we spend 4 months on hook up in Spain and only use gas for the kettle and back up for fridge when EHU post is faulty.

We spend a month in UK all in

The van cam with 2 gas low and gas low fittings

I assume that now the bottles need replacing at £445 I should use cheaper gas in Spain but would need van too be adapted to take one UK and one Spanish bottle?

Why don't you just leave as is and keep it beyond 15 years? It's been in your gas locker for the best part of its life. Not been bashed about. Not rusted etc etc?
Whilst I agree with you, as I'm sure Basildog would point out, you can't see the inside.

AFAIK: All modern cylinders now only have a 10 year 'life'.
(Gaslow tanks used to be 15 years, then 12 years, now 10 years)
Which means you will not be able to get a Gas Cert with a 10 year old tank (from any supplier).
Any reputable seller or Dealer will need to remove the tanks before they sell it on.

Quite a simple procedure if you have a van with a 30mbar bulkhead regulator
Each connecting hose (Pigtail) can take different connectors..Spain...Jumbo for Cepsa or Repsol Butane/Propane the same...
UK ..I believe...Propane and Butane are different, but if the correct Pigtail is bought you just fit the one you require..
No expert knowledge required...if I can then you can.if you cannot, someone can for you..it's quite simple.🇪🇦

2 bottles form Gasglow direct is £445 so keen to get the best deal
Don't buy here in spain then as that price will barely get you one cylinder.

I want to fit a 6kg refillable gaslow but will wait until I go to the Uk as most are far too dear here.& 6kg is the only size I can get in.
As jumar says hunt around for lightweight refillables which will swop in using the same piping that you have.
What does a Spanish 12 kg cost.....just to make us jealous!
17,70€ now ,repsol or cepsa delivered to the gate is the gov.es new amount. gone up 1€

The site shop at Villasol were exchanging Repsol Propano at €17.50 Richard, where I would exchange for convenience, but the big German opposite us would load his empty cylinder onto a frame he made specially for the job, on the back of his scooter. He refused to pay the shop price and exchanged at the Repsol Depot down the road for €14.50. That was earlier this year. Do the prices vary from region to region?

Cheers,

Jock. :)
