Hi All, I have inherited what can only be described as an explosion waiting to happen. I have taken the gas bottle and connector out and am now left with a thread and not sure what to do. I purchased something I thought would work (but doesn't) Has anyone seen this type before or have any odea what I need to get gas connected? Thanks in Advance

Marcus.

Ok, I see a new regulator in a packet,
a pipe with a compression joint on it. Is this the pipe that takes the gas into the van?
And a f!exible hose with a male thread, where does this hose go?

So the hose basically connects straight to the flexi hose but it's been bodged with a stanley knife or something so have removed it all together. All I have to work with now is the hose in the van with a male thread - I'm totally lost.

Basically picture 2 was connected to picture 3 (picture 3 goes straight to the gas hob) I have removed it but can't remove the bit from the end of the pipe (compression joint) to be honest I know nothing about this so am lost and google hasn't helped. it worked perfectly well but just clearly not safe

You should take advice, but seems gas cooker hose has possibly a bsp male thread, and you want to connect it to a copper pipe which may be 6mm diameter.
The link above might be ok, BUT you need to be confident you have the correct sizes, I have only guessed.......

Best advice? As you are no expert leave it alone and get a professional in. Looks to me like it's already been bodged and I would be having the whole lot renewed. Gas leaks can be very insiduous until you switch on a light, then KABOOM................................!

Meanwhile please don't park next to me! :whatthe: :imoutahere:

Yeah I've reached out to a gas engineer as on closer inspection a 1 inch piece of copper pipe has been inserted in to the hose then connected with something or other. Total mess! Cheers all
