First stop for 3 days will be Salthill in Galway.
Although we have been several times we cannot remember too much.
so
Best bar for food, music and the craic
Must see in the area.....touristing.
We have wheels.

Take a spin up to Maam cross via Oughterdard & the quiet man bridge & Kylemore abbey etc, nice drive,
Take your good lady for afternoon tea at Ashford castle (former home of the Guinness family) that will sting you but your brownie points will be off the scale! 🤣
A trip south you'll find the Burren which is a fascinating lunar type landscape and worth a drive around & not too far from you...
For grub, Blackrock cottage in Salthill is nice, if you like seafood a spin out to Leanne for seafood or proper fresh salmon the best you'll ever taste, also O'Gradys in Barna is great too
To be honest there's no shortage of good pubs & restaurants etc in and around Galway

Music..... Tig Cóilí is great for music & craic and the stout of course 😀 also the crane bar is great, again there's loads of places for music, craic & the stout
Hope you enjoy your few days there 👍

Perfect, thank you Paul just what i wanted.
We have rented a 2 bed apartment in Blackrock Reatreat on Dun Na Carraige, Salthill 4 nts, then onto Killarney for 3 nts then Donegal for 4 in a 3 bed in Barnesmore, proper in the country on a lake, then Dublin.
We plan to have drive out's in the day so the above is going to be most helpful.
Really looking forward to this visit as i have done more research and your info.

Adare is a lovely spot to stop off - just south of Limerick. Lots of thatched cottages but can be busy (well, by Irish standards...). Limerick is worth a visit - the medieval castle certainly is one to behold. Also, if you have time while in Kerry, the Conor Pass near Dingle is a great trip in a car - wouldn't want to go up there in a motor home. Dingle is a great spot - lots of native Irish speakers, Similarly, when going back to towards Dublin the R759 takes you past something called the Guinness Lake - google it - worth a look too.

Thanks for that.
Is Limerick where the castle thing is to kiss the blarney stone. Did that about 25 years ago or more.
Other points you mentioned are noted.
Conor Pass is on the notes.

Don't tell him about the Guinness lake! He'll be out with the straws! 🤣🤣

I've not seen anywhere in Coastal or rural Ireland that isn't picturesque. If you're considering a visit to Kilkenny, you might enjoy passing through Cashel. (I realise you've mentioned Galway but, also, that you're touring).

As we have done WAW and some of The Rings several times our intention is to more of "The Country", as in villages, passes etc etc, including The Rings mentioned that we have not yet done.

It was so good to see all The St George's flags & Union Jack flags up when we were coming through England the other week, we always have our flags up all year round! 😂
In this day & age all our cultures have to be preserved!

I'll be lucky if i can get 3 down me neck in one session nowadays:cry::drink::drink::drink:
Don't be telling me that! I've the lads at home waiting for you for a session! 😂

View attachment 1115682Can't remember where we were in Ireland many years ago but we were the first in the pub, think it was Sunday and the Guinness was waiting just like that. Within 10 mins the pub was packed.

Used to take our son to an adventure place called Experiance Ireland. Bout 10 miles out side Dublin.
I remember it was a big colledge and had it's own big church in the grounds.
Mrs Bob and i toured whilst he was doing his knitting and stuff.
Great days.
