We have a 3 way Thetford fridge with small icebox, only 3 years old. We are about to go up to Yorkshire in about 2 hours time. We put the fridge on yesterday on EHU to cool down. It seemed to be cooling down ok, even though its on a slope in our driveway, but we have done this before several times before and it's been fine. We could hear a strange crackling sound, almost like running water, coming from the top vent but there was heat coming from there and the freezer box seemed to be cooling down ok. The thermometer was reading 0 degrees, so I put some icecubes , and a couple of frozen meals in overnight.

This morning, when I went to fill it up with the rest of the food, the ice cubes had melted and the frozen meals, although cold were no longer frozen.

We have put it on gas to see if that makes any difference.

Does anybody have any suggestions? There is no error code, the green light is on, it just isn't cooling down enough.....help!!

To me it sounds like there may be a coolant leak, you don't normally hear it circulating which I think maybe is what you are listening to. Any odd smells around. Bit unusual though at that low age.

There'll be other ideas along shortly.
