Hi peeps...

Fridge catch has gone and will no longer lock the door...

I have established that it's the spring that has "unseated" in the latch...
I'd taken the front cover off... and can see the rod etc... thinking the spring mech was behind panel...

However ... it's in the lock-block on inside of door.... I can see it...

What I'm struggling with is .... if the catch assembly is removable from the door... and/or if the latch in picture "splits" to reveal its innards!..
So that I can re-seat or replace spring....

It appears to split but I don't want to force it incase it's a "sealed" unit... and if it is... how on earth does it come off the door.. to replace... surely one doesn't require a full door for an unseated spring!!!..

What does that part sticking out of the bottom (with a slotted hole) actually do?

I think you can remove the front aesthetic panel, not done but read it pops out.

That is the travel lock

It holds the lock up... when one is camped... so it acts like a nomal fridge door...

Just bumping...

Anyone about who knows the answer to my first post? ;)

John, I did say in my first post that the door décor panel pops out to reveal the locking rod and mechanism. I think Robert Clark on here has posted about it. I will search around to see if I can find the posts. Failing that if you ring Leisure shop I have found them helpful.

Not instructions on how to do it but the attached parts list seems to show the complete door lock splits into two parts, the white "side panel" detaches? Maybe that'll work? Otherwise it gives you the part number you would need to replace it.

Sorry, re reading it with this in mind all comes clear, I failed English GCE! Glad you sorted it. I had a problem with the freezer lock actually freezing, I think my wife had something causing the door to allow condensation into the lock and the it froze solid!

I had to replace a spring in my Weru front door, went to local locksmith who had loads from dismantled locks, picked two that looked right - FOC(y)

Glad to see you got it opened.(y)
If you can't source a new spring might you be able to overlap the broken ends and solder, Araldite or sleeve them together?

All done...
Scavenged a spring from this old screwdriver...
Right diameter .. just had to nip 5mm off length.... ;)

And even more importantly it allows you to get in even if the internals have frozen up, I believe it was a modification to the lock as the first ones didn't have the lifter.
