My Pilote has an aircon unit fitted to the roof which puts it a shade over 3 metres , were talking a couple of centimetres do the height sensors at the peages very accurate .
I have an emovis Tag

Is it not also a shade over 3.5T? Isn’t that another trigger for higher tolls?

I have read on here that a few are economic with the facts when applying and mostly seem to get away with it

But the French do seem a lot keener in such things this year, I wouldn’t gamble

weight isnt an issue with ours it has a MIRO of 2770kg a gross of 3500kg and an overall height of 2.75 meters but the aircon units takes it to 3.02 meters

You must be OK at that , I would certainly gamble and complain if charged a higher rate ?

I would let you off with Class 2 for that one ;)

When I looked a couple of years ago they didn't ask but you declared by ticking a box that you were within the dimensions stated for class 2, same think really:)

There are exceptions made for the aircon and sat boxes, if charged the higher rate simply push the button and explain to the person on the other end .

We have just been to France in our carthago c line 4.5t with air con and sat dish on the roof we were charged class 2 everywhere by the auto toll booths

We have rear air suspension. At its lowest setting we sail through, at its highest we are caught. Our sat dish isn't on the highest point of our van so difficult to know the exact height where it triggers.
Always worth a press of the button and "Camping Car...".

I think the height used is at the front wheels, but I may have made that up.
