Found All The Chassis

Those Funsters that are waiting for their new M/H and are told the manufacturer is waiting for the chassis to build on!

We are at Benicarlo the home of Benimar and there must be at least 1500 Chassis Cab and Cowls adjacent to the factory waiting to be built on.
Ford's , Fiat's and Peugeot, never seen so may in one place, also just round the corner a great number of panel vans all waiting for conversion.

What is going on in the UK when people are waiting so long???

Useful info! I wonder how many are RHD. I suspect that might be the issue for UK orders!

And how old will they be by the time they get built and delivered?
The model year is defined on the VIN by its tenth digit coded as below - note MODEL year NOT calendar year. How many of you bought what you thought was a 'new' vehicle only to find that it had been sat in a compound for months or maybe a year before it was converted?

When we have ordered new vans if you want RHD it's always an extra 3 to 4 months on the delivery. 1st van we ordered was RHD had to wait until end of May could have had a LHD in Feb. Last two have been LHD as will the next one.

All 3 new vans we have had conversion date has always been within a couple of months of the chassis build date (all Hymers) but I've seen quite a few Carthago's where the conversion has been over a year later.

You can see the progress of your van just by looking at the Certificates of Conformity. You should have one for the base vehicle build, one for the Al-Ko chassis if it has one and the final converts one.
