For Sale: 7.5 T Clou Liner

Absolutely agree but the first time I have seen anyone else dare say it. They seem to be the holygrail of motorhomes to most on here, I wouldn't have one of it was free.
But when you’re in it you don’t have to look at the outside 🤔 There’s quite a few vehicles that fit that narrative. I passed a Holden the other day and thought my goodness that is one ugly car.

Everyone has different likes, choices, budgets etc, you shouldn’t be so rude about others choices
There’s a probably some on here who wouldn’t have your old ambulance if it was free, in fact there’s some who probably wouldn’t have it if it was free and you gave them brass to take it away, but they wouldn’t dare say it because it’s your choice.
Do you think it worries me what anyone says about our van , the more they criticise it the more I love it,
I know how thin skinned people are on here that's why I don't often comment on how horrible them vans are but seeing that someone else thinks the same as me I thought it was safe to reply.

It is way over normal market value, especially for a fairly basic spec.
It is nice though Jon ;) yes I agree it's a touch ambitious on the pricing, is it really 7.45m though ? getting back to the price if it can be run at 7500kg I think that is in it's favour as it's a larger market.

For anybody who wants to see what quality cupboard detail is just check out the matched wood veneer.

On the downside though, just a small fridge under the kitchen counter and no oven

Absolutely you’re right but if someone comes on and posts, especially for the first time, they’ve saved up all their lives and bought an old Clou, or another Motorhome, it would be so rude for people to then post, it’s ugliest thing I’ve ever seen, I wouldn’t have one given.

I love them but I can appreciate everyone’s choice of motorhome and budget.

We had someone this week say about our van” What a beautiful Motorhome you have”

I said the same to someone with an immaculate old 98 auto sleeper recently with monocoque construction, beautiful condition it was.
You would hardly say to someone on site”It’s bleeding ugly that thing I wouldn’t have it given” even if you thought it.

Serious question but why do these vans weigh 4 tonnes more than regular 3500kg vans of similar size?
A good part of the answer to that question is payload, my van is rated at 6 tonnes but 1200 kgs of that is available payload, hence I can carry a 200kg motorcycle in the garage, in fact the max capacity of the garage is 350 kgs.

Well that's where we differ, I would.
Makes no difference whether it's on here or on a site, it's still ugly.

Would you say the same about someone’s clothes, watch, shoes etc?

That’s how arguments start, how about a bit of diplomacy such as” I appreciate the real quality but it’s a bit big and heavy for me” etc etc

I think we live in different worlds mate, admittedly mine is dieing.

No, we live in the same world, both haven’t got much spare brass but go about things differently.
Ours is a cheap old van same as yours is.

I would far rather have people come to me and say that old ambulance is a load of yellow rubbish , ok no problem, than have someone come up saying I think it's marvelous when in fact they are telling lies.
I say what I think , if I say I like something you can bet your bottom dollar I do but equally I don't hide behind fancy words if I don't.

I often think that about people 🤔

Obviously true for your van but a lot of these old liners be they N+B, Concorde, Phoenix etc will have no payload at 7500kg which is why most are plated over that, ours plated at 6000kg would be overweight before I even stepped inside ;)

Ive only had a door on the offside for 20 years and somehow survived, although most of our UK trips are between home and a ferry.

Benefits over a PVC are greater levels of comfort and insulation but "horses for courses"
Your motorhome is fantastic Jon, I remember sitting in it with you thinking the quality of it is second to none and then thinking how shit & plasticy my brand new PVC was! 🤣
Thankfully this new Hymer is on a different level and seems very well built 🤗

Our Flair isn’t the quality of the Clou but it’s ever so close build wise but not chassis at over 20 years old it’s still looking as good as new inside and still love it👍

I don't understand why anybody would feel the need to be quite so rude though, at the end of the day it's all about getting out and doing what you want to do in the vehicle that suits you.

As I said I think I am in a different world to a lot of younger people now, don't get me wrong it's how it is now I realise that, you can even get locked up for saying what you think , and I would never think that telling the truth as you see it, rude, but now it's all fancy talk that in the end means nothing.

So if someone on a site said” Chuff me your wife is bleeding ugly can I have a photo I’ll stick it on the gate whilst we’re away, that’ll stop the burglars”
That would be ok then?

I remember getting a phone call years ago saying “ There’s 6 men attacking your wife aren’t you going to help”
I said” No 6 should be enough” 😄

But our regular van has about the same payload with a GVW of 4250kg. I'd have to carry the motorcycle in bits in the garage due to the shape although it has a capacity of 300kg

But your van isn't built on a truck chassis I presume.

Does it need to be?
For an accurate comparison yes it would, because truck chassis and running gear is significantly heavier then the equivalent parts on standard vans.
