enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....
Scratched my head so much that it almost bled .... Well not really but I was determined NOT to rush and start drilling holes to run the cable for the front number plate camera.

I found a ready pre drilled large oval hole behind the glove compartment. If you look from inside the engine bay, you can see the outline of the hole, it must be stamped into the engine compartment sound proofing lining as the oval part of the lining was easily removed

I've 3D printed a two part grommet to cover the hole and to protect the cable, one part of the grommet inside the engine bay and the other side from inside the cab. They fit together quite snugly. I will probably put a bit of silicone just to secure the grommet on one side. I dint think I'm compromising the fire wall as the hole already exists behind the sound proofing engine compartment lining

The hole in the grommet had to be big enough to allow the connector to pass through, though I could have made it smaller with a split through half of the grommet (I might make one tonight)

Hopefully the information re the hidden hole might prove useful for anyone looking at doing something similar and I'm quite happy to print off a grommet for you ....

Photo of the cable passing through the bulkhead, FYI.

The rest was pretty easy, just a decision in where to position the front number plate camera and ensuring the cable is nearly clipped to the grill to avoid it fouling anything or coming into contact with anything hot.

I used amalgam tape over the connection from the cable to the fly lead on the camera. Although it's a threaded type connector I thought it best to add some additional waterproofing protection.

Will add more photos as things progress. Next job is to install permanent power supply from the leisure battery, so it's always 'on', that way the 'bump protection' will automatically operate ...
