So, the clock is ticking until we pick up our lovely new-to-us Burstner family van and so our thoughts have now turned to safety. The van passed its technical inspection (our version of an MOT) 2 weeks ago and we have a few routine bits being done van-side but we are trying to ensure we have everything we need to ensure both our kids and ourselves are as safe as possible should the worst come to the worst.
My list so far is as follows :
Tri-Gas Alarm
6 x High-vis vests
Fire extinguisher + fire blanket
Vehicle alarm and tracker (sadly no growler for us unless Eddie fancies a weekend holiday in Poland!!)
One of those "disguised" safes - just feel better having all important documents locked away from prying eyes, plus stops us losing them!!
Steering wheel lock - more for the visual deterrent value than anything else
At the end of the day, I realise it's a 19 year old van and so not really a high-risk target compared to a brand-new A-class, so with the alarm etc I'm aiming for abng-for-buck rather than the best of the best. Things that could affect family safety like the gas alarm then the best is what we would like to have. So...what else do I need to add to this specific list and do you have anything you would strongly recommend?
