I am trying to expidite the supply of a Body Control Module for our 2017 swift escape, we are informed by the main agent that it will take 7 to 10 working days to get to the UK is it normal to take this long to get spares from Fiat????

Was told that certain Fiat spares may take up to 10 weeks because of lockdown etc ( not all made by Fiat reliant on outside sources) If it outside warranty try generic spares

The Body Control Module is specific to your vehicle and has to be programmed according to its VIN and original configuration at the factory. You can't just throw any Ducato BCM into your vehicle, because it won't work. 10 days isn't extraordinary for a bespoke order, but many businesses are also suffering issues due to Covid.

I can remember after the Japanese tsunami when Land Rover were quoting 7 months to supply new keys.

fairly rare for a BCM to fail. There are specialist firms who refurb the other more common fail airbag ECUs, like crashdata. I wonder if any of them repair the body control modules? most fails seem to be damp ingress or dry joints

Hi Deneb out of interest only, can a replacement BCM be configured to the vehicle by Multiecuscan

I don't think it will be possible, as none of the modules or sensors can communicate with the wrong BCM. Fiat Italy has the computer record of the data in the firmware of the original, so can program the new one in one go

No, not even by a dealer. It has to come programmed from the factory.

Some specialist repair companies may have equipment that can clone an existing BCM if it can still communicate, and copy the configuration to a new unit.

All sorted out now got one from the fleebay and had it cloned by the main dealer they were great to deal with, so thanks everyone for your help
