I feel I have an issue with my fuel gauge, I last filled up and after approx 200 miles its still showing full, it does drop to zero with the ignition off. (Ducato 130hp X250 2013 lhd - I noticed the time before that I filled up the ltrs I put in surprised me).
I have had the dash off and unplugged and replugged the dash connector plug and still shows full when turned on.
Does the gauge have a sender ? Is it easy to find and check the connection to it?
Any ideas as to what the issue may be?
Thanks

Have you had van from new?
Did it used to read differently?
What size tank has it got/how many litres can you get in it?

The sender unit in the top of the tank is basically a variable resistor and has a tendency to fail occasionally. Access is through a plate in the floor of the cab by UK side passenger seat

The sender is under a hatch in the floor between the front seats. Worth checking all the connections before taking it out could be open circuit if it just reads full.

Yeah had from new, over 7 years and 90000km's done and no previous fuel issues so i know the 'gauge/consumption' pretty well

Thanks, so does it look like a small tube then?

Thanks, do u know what it looks like?

Sometimes the wires from the unit can get damaged as they are under the “squishy” bit of the floor when you walk between the seats.

Apart from engine battery compartment the only other compartment leads to this circular black cover - is it under this?

looks slightly different to mine but yes it should be. Beside the passenger seat? As far as I remember there are a couple of access hatches in the floor. The fuel tank is under the passenger seat
