I have just noticed that when engine is started all the electrics in the living area are automatically cut off..Is this normal

Hi this is normal and I found a bit annoying. When you are parked up with the engine running the lights in the living area go out.

I looked through the habitation wiring diagram for my motor home and found a fuse that feeds the relay that engages this feature when the engine is running. Once removed the lights ect run when I want. The downside is if you leave the lights on by accident..... Flat battery time.
