Query. Can anyone help please. I will attach page from Fiat manual. We are querying the Timing Belt period

We read two things - top line is 96 months
The little * lower indicates less

Now we are around 37k miles (yes miles) and this has been regularly used

Every other year oil and filter changed and intermediate years we follow the manual

Thank you for any help. Why is manual saying 8 years but reading elsewhere is 5/6

Carol

Not sure on that but my 2012 manual definitely said 4 and 5 years and my brand new 22 Ducato says every 4 years should be inspected but changed at 5 years normally and changed after 3 in certain conditions

All the x250 & x290's it's 5 years or 4 years for heavy town use.
We have a 150 Comformatic just had it done at 5 years.
What's your opinion about the year it took from factory gate to your collection from the dealer's pitch?

Motor Homing 5 years, caravan previously
Yes we had ours changed last month at 5 years old, even though it has very low mileage, its been stored up, so just as bad for the belt as doing high stop start town mileage. This was also confirmed by our Fiat Prof dealership.(y)

IMV its not worth taking the chance of leaving it any longer, engines are so expensive these days.

16 years since restarting
& as I have said before if you have a vehicle in europe in a country with high temps be aware that 5* last line (very high temperatures for extended periods the belt must be replaced at 3 years /60,000kms) will apply to you & is usually in a handbook in own language will show the lower years/kilometres. My ford Transits both showed it

Our Ducato part was built Dec 2016, Al-Ko bit Jan 2017 Hymer bit Feb 2017 we collected it March 2017.
A very rapid turnaround. I guess because it was a special order.
My one was made in June 2018.
I took delivery from of the sales pitch in November 2019.
Already more than a year old when I bought it.

Ours is a special build ordered 2016 Sept at Paris Show. Should have been ready well was in June17 except dealers who had never exported before got some duff info. So although we were in airport just about to board got a call to say donā€™t come - too late. We went. France on holiday so came back and then flew again and collected it 23/08 and registered it 4/9/17 after UK mods done

Carol

It was booked before we came away but garage got Covid and couldnā€™t fit us in
