Hi

I’ve seen a Fiamma box on eBay local (ish) to me but it has the bars that mount on the motorhome and I want to mount on the bike rack.

The kit is an eye watering over £50 and includes the items in the link.

I’m not very DIY - but will I be able to replicate this kit or something similar to securely mount the box ?

Thanks
Jo

The kit is 6 u bolts with flat plates for the inside of the box, just go to local b&q should have something to do the job for a £10

Jo, the link takes me to solar charging leads ??

Last time I fitted an Ultrabox to one of my vans, the internal metal spreader plates were shaped to go over the stiffening ridges on the floor of the box and the Fiamma clamps weren’t long enough to go over the oversized bars on my Bolero.

I used @Geo ’s method and bought 6 exhaust clamps, but I did have to drill out the Fiamma plates a bit.

I bought stainless steel U bolts from a yacht chandler. If the box has fittings for mounting on the body of a MH it should have the plates and nuts, which will be inside the box. If it doesn't have the shaped plates I would be wary of bodging it with washers as the plates spread the load in exactly the right place. :)

The existing holes in the box will almost certainly be in the wrong place, as mine were. I sealed them by putting a bit of sellotape over the hole on the inside then a blob of silicon bath sealer on the outside. Then drill new holes in the right place.

You can see the U bolt around the upright tube in the first photo and the plate and nuts in the second.

Sorry for the dodgy link @Kingham -
Not sure what happened there !

Thanks for the replies gentleman - it seems I will have options for fitting that are not over £50 for a some bracket type things and some other bits.
