Hi we're planning six weeks in Ireland from September. We have a JR terrier who usually travels secured in a carry box . We haven't left her loose alone in the MoHo for long.
Not sure which will be best - kennel on board or travel box in the vehicle. I'd be interested to know what other pet owners think.

I’d of thought the dog would be happiest in its own surroundings.

Especially if it normally travels caged or boxed.

It was my first thought but if she's very upset seems a shame to "taint" the travel box which she goes in fairly happily.
Safest contained though.

When we've been to Ireland we've get one of the quieter crossings and take our smaller dogs up with us in 'soft' carriers which look like baggage/holdalls then find a quiet area in a corner out of the way to sit with them. We usually give them a good walk beforehand so they are nice and sleeping and they then snooze for most of the time. They don't make a noise at all although we do sometimes open up the end so they don't feel so trapped and can stretch out a bit more and of course to give them the odd treat and drink. So long as you aren't causing a problem or letting people fuss them nobody usually bats and eyelid, even the crew don't bother.

I'd be more concerned about going to Ireland in September! ☔
