JUST HAD THE RENEWAl quote from LV for car and motorhome, the car is quotes at £372.70 but if I go online it’s £304? I thought the quotes had to be the same for existing customer and new.

Phone them if you’re happy and they match your online quote

Never ever ever ever had a renewal quote close to new customer online price. That's why they make it a bit of a PITA to cancel auto renew to hope you give up and just renew. Not supposed to do it but they're insurance companies so just ignore the new rules.

I never allow them to keep my details to auto renew
I am with LV & my insurance went down £70 this year

Don,t forget if you cancel your Motorhome insurance LV are not insuring new customers. I tried removing myself from our policy last October and they would not issue a new policy

If that’s the case take out online insurance to start as your old policy expires - if they are not insuring new customers they will have to notify you when you pay - could be a month beforehand.
Personally I would find a different insurer unless it’s by far the cheapest you have found.

I’ve encountered the same with Direct Line a couple of years ago. Online quote was cheaper than the renewal and they couldn’t match it.

Only if purchased through the same channel. i.e a renewal or a phone quote can be different to an online quote.

Had this with Hastings insurance on the car. Just cancelled the renewal and took out the new online one.

Most things are cheaper online because you are cutting out the personal service, which costs money to provide. However sometimes personal service may be important which is why I am sticking to NFU for my insurance. I expect I could save a few £s by shopping around but I choose not to.

I have a neighbour who is currently having a right battle with her insurer after an accident and spends hours on the phone trying to sort it out. She is word perfect on repeating the “we are experiencing a very high number of calls at present…………”, which of course really means we don’t employ enough staff.

I am sure that very recently on here was another post ref LV.
As many now know they wont accept new motorhome policies so you need to be careful if cancelling.
I think the OP of the other post took off the car and retained just the motorhome policy as it was still a cheaper quote than others.
May be worth a search to check.. OR ask LV where you stand for just the motorhome cover.
