Hi
The TV that came MoHo is not the best in the world and DVD makes an awful noise.
The the TV's and DVD Players you can from supermarkets do they work on 12v or do you need to be hooked up to the mains.
Other wise could end up taking to wife tonight
Rob

Some tv s will be 12 volt but not all. You can get a dedicated motorhome tv but if you go to pc.world. and look at the back of the tv s and find a 12 volt one

I tried that there are very few if any now that have 12v transfomers most are 15 or 18v. We bought the Aldi one seems fine but not tried a DVD yet. Question for the OP do you mean Taking the wife or Talking to the wife??????????????

Bought a 21" led TV from Aldi website recently.
Does everything I want it to..
12v - Freeview - Built in free to air satellite - DVD player - Media player to work off a USB flash drive or HDD... Also PVR function so can record.
I know many others on here have bought same.. £125 and a 3 year guarantee (y) and before anyone shouts up, fully aware of the Aldi warranty and if it fails may only get some cash back BUT that's better than scrapping a TV in 2 years as these things are never a viable repair :D.

Some one in the Inn has just said use an inverter? Then I could use a normal TV. He said get one with a built in DVD and where sorted. If using an inverter to power 240v stuff would this use the power in a 12v leisure battery quicker?

It would use a bit more power as theres a conversion from 12v to mains then from mains at the TV to whatever it needs. The advantage is if you use a quickly detachable mount you could use it at home and in the van and you have to buy an inverter

On our way up to Scotland last year I got our tv/dvd set out of it's tempory cover only to find the screen was cracked because I was a pillock and had stored it with the plug against the screen.
Next morning I picked up a JVC tv/dvd from currys. 24 inch and works well, not 12v however. Also invested in proper storage bag!
