I posted this on another thread earlier but thought some might find it interesting:

Saturday afternoon and no one here 😳

Edit, parked with wild abandon 😁

That's promising, we will be there late tomorrow morning, hopefully the same.

As mentioned on other threads, very quiet, quick and easy 👍

Now parked up on a little Aire about an hour from the tunnel. Only one other van here. Great little village with a Brewery and nice looking wine shop, both open tomorrow 👍Screenshot_20210911-211551.png

that ain't parked, it's where the Van ground to a halt! Lucky not to get a ticket for parking outside the mark bays and denying other customers the opportunity to park safely ... ;)

I just checked prices following a different thread , at close to £200 each way to go next week I am not surprised it’s empty 😳
& short notice on 31st august it was £365 one way yet the next day 1st september it was £185?🤷‍♂️

Those people with more sense than money would buy 10 frequent travellers tickets and use the rest next year, or better still share with a friend
Elaine says I've have more money than sense and refused to recant when I told I had just over 7 quid in my wallet ... Enough to make her drive the motorhome, so it is ... But only if I want a return to A&E; might make a change for the medics from the Saturday evening ritual of having to extract the hoover tube ... A 6 metre Van presents a more interesting challenge ...

the Chunnel is by far our favoured route and we hope to do FT again from next year

just need to make friends with someone before next year 😁🤣👍

Think Eurotunnel have suspended frequent traveller sales at the moment......

Yep. They have extended the period to use the FT crossings, but suspended the ability to purchase FT. Something they are changing in July from my understanding. Be interesting to see what it is.

Chalet booked for family trip, Morzine Half term week Feb 2022, normally a tunnel crossing however between 4.00pm and 6.00pm train cost £424 out and return at 6.00pm £483.
Minibus 11 persons so down to Ferry route Dover --Calais return £237 with flexi on return journey upto 4hrs. no contest.

Can you buy more crossings on a current FT do you know?

We’re on it now. Literally right this minute. Very quiet, mostly Eastern European vans.
We paid £123.00 to go and £120.00 to come back in a couple of weeks.
checking in was same as always just asked if we were vaccinated. They were not interested in looking at our paperwork. Never even mentioned food. Usual gas off check and away we went. We’re about half way now. Up to gravelines for a few hours sleep when we get off. Then a couple of days to Chamonix visiting our son and his wife.

It was the same for us yesterday afternoon, just asked through and managed to get on a train 3 hrs earlier than booked at no extra cost, which was a bonus. However the trip the other way last week was a different story. Arrived at Calais at 7.20am for a 9.20am train and still missed it. Horrendous queues to get through border checks, yet it only took us a minute or so at each one 🙄

You CAN book new crossings with existing Frequent Traveller tickets in your FT wallet (I did yesterday).

You CANNOT buy new FT tickets .

We were on it 31/8 - 5 vehicles. I had checked for curiosity it was £299 then on our way up from Cornwall. Why not lower prices and fill it up. Surely make more in long run. Used Tesco rewards for ours. Got train 3 hrs earlier than booked.

Hi Irene, how things are well with you both? did you use your TIE cards or passport & if so did you avoid it being stamped?
