Hello All,
I am in the process of adding a fan to boost air circulation around the back of the fridge, in the hope it will work better in warmer weather. I have found black, red and blue wires connected to a relay at the base of the fridge. However, the black wire I assume is not connected unless the engine is running. Thus although I can find a live wire that I think is from the leisure battery, the red one, I cannot find a negative wire to the leisure battery. Am I correct in thinking the red wire is a power supply for the gas igniter? If so, then is the casing around the igniter connected to the leisure battery negative (ie, in effect earthed)?
Would it be ok to use the red wire (spliced into before the relay) as a power supply for a thermostatic switch and fan and then use the igniter casing as the negative connection?
I had put a volt meter from the red wire to the igniter casing and read 12.4v. To check, I removed the leisure battery main fuse and the same connection read zero.
