Having problems with wiring of solar and battery charging circuits. Something is draining starter battery and mains charger working but power not getting through to battery. Looking for decent ‘sparks’ to sort it out. Located Berks / Wilts borders.

Sorry cant give u a recommendation.
It's normal for some small drain on the starter battery how quickly is it discharging?
Did your solar used to charge it.
Is it a blown fuse?

As above
Plus

All modern vehicles have a drain on the starter battery due to ECU and possibly the alarm.
Are you solar panels charging? Do have any voltmeters on the van control panel?

I have the same issue with my van strangely and I just came on here to ask the same question!!

could just be the fuse inline with the battery positive cable. usually about 50amps and very close to the leisure battery

Thanks so far. This is a 2004 van so electrics are fairly simple - supposedly!! Yes, I expect a small drain on the starter battery but for it to be flattened in 2 weeks. The solar panel is working perfectly and keeping the leisure battery topped up, whatever the weather. Have checked all the fuses I can find. Still struggling.

Apuljack located near Highbridge, Somerset.

Do u have a an electrical test meter (multimeter) preferably with a DC current loop?
Perhaps more to the point can u be bothered to try to sort it yourself?
(No offence intended but some people prefer to pay an expert to sort it which is what I think u were asking for originally).
If your van has radio, alarm & tracker could well only last a couple of weeks.

Try Wissel in Horncastle or Caravan & Motorhome services in Chard Somerset

Flattened starter battery in a couple of weeks seems to be common which is why the battery master is a favourite fitment
I take it your solar does not charge the starter battery and the charger sounds like it has to be switched on the control panel to tell it to charge the starter battery
