Electric step

Good morning,
Is there a way , easy I may to isolate the electric step on an Autotrail Dakota and fasten it under?
Mine is so erratic it stays out , comes halfway , etc.

If you have a Sargent EM50 unit fitted on your Autotrail ( it may be on the floor behind the drivers seat) , it controls the step operation etc and can be the cause of faulty step operation.

Have a good look at the microswitch, it not very well sealed and can get covered in mud if there are no mudflaps behind the wheels. The Truma one is identical to house fridge door switch so often easier found.
