I am insured with pedalsure but upon reading the small print when both bikes are on the back of my motorhome only 1 in insured .Can anyone recommend other insurance companies please. I can do it on my home insurance because it won't provide enough cover.
thanks in advance

Take the batteries off and store somewhere safe in the van, the batteries are the most expensive part of an e bike and without the battery and charger they are useless to a thief as no resale value as obviously stolen and a bike without any e bits is more sellable. Insure as two none electric bikes and keep the batteries separate. My home insurance ( Hastings ) covers both e bikes regardless of where they are but as long as I have taken reasonable, i.e removed battery and locked then covered when on rear of m/home, when traveling. Just have a trawl on the internet you will get cover

We got reasonably-priced ebike insurance from Barclays Bank. Not sure about conditions for bikes on the back of the van because ours are in the garage. May be worth having a look.

I take the risk myself and am careful where I leave them.
I've no idea what the insurance would've cost but think I must've saved a packet by now.

But you can say the same about all insurance, only worth it if you have to claim? You could have lost a packet if you had your bike nicked first day you bought them

If you cannot afford to lose it, you do need to consider insurance.
But insurance can expensive. Not only do you pay to feed those providing cover but you also subscribe to inflated claims by people who don't even take adequate care.

True. But, asuming the underwriting actuaries are right, if you trouser the premium over the years you will be quids in. We've always self insured for dental work after I left my old company scheme, and for vets fees (3 dogs). As long you religiously set the "premiums" aside the odds are on your favour in the long term. As always, though,YMMV as they say.

So you do this for house insurance etc? I can agree to a point, we did not have dog insurance and we were lucky but others are not so. Setting premiums aside is just like paying insurance except you may or may not have enough in the pot if you have to pay for anything early on, likely after 10 years then yes you will be in pocket no doubt but not every claim will be after 10 years it could be 10 minutes/days/months?

Of course its personal preference but for bike insurance especially for good e-bikes which are in short supply and desirable at the moment its peace of mind if it gets nicked or damaged and for us we would have to pay insurance for 25-30 years to cover the cost of a £2,500 bike if it got nicked so reasonable value if we ever do have to claim?

We’ve got two high value electric bikes insured with Eversure

I have two as named bikes on my home insurance plus £80 additional to the policy whereas a specialist bike insurer would have been £200 for the equivalent cover. Ditto our technology- iPad, phones etc.
