Hi i'm fairly recent to motorhoming but want to wash the cover of one of the mattresses in my mh because my naughty (and at the time wet) golden retriever puppy managed to jump on one with no sheet on it!

Looking at the mattresses there is a zip BUT the zip looks (initially) like it is broken, but they are all the same, so I'm not sure whether they are meant to be removed. Before I phone the company and make and idiot of myself or break the zip can anyone clarify whether they are meant to be removable?

Thanks

Phone the company. They should know more about their covers than anyone else.

Not knowing much about these things, I wouldn't try to remove the cover. You've already suggested that it's flimsy and the cover could shrink if you washed it, anyway.
I'd just try to clean it up as much as possible (dry brush and vacuum cleaner). It's going to spend most of the time covered over but, if appearance troubles you, you could invite your dog back to continue its activities until the cover is covered (if that makes sense). If you are lucky and your dog is talented (unlikely but possible) you could stop it as soon as there is an acceptable pattern.

If you mean Duvalay, we've had occasion to remove the quilted mattress cover for washing, (we've also got dogs :giggle:). I'ts certainly not a simple or easy job off and on, but I don't remember a particular problem with the zip. What I have found when replacing the outer covers is that rolling them up tightly a couple of times seems to even everything out.
