Hi

Maybe I missed it but cannot find this button in my manual, no idea what it does so I thought I would ask this illustrious group!

Errmm I think you are driving a converted tip truck! :hugs:

Or based on one of those Warehouse motorized sweepers:gum:

You press it to unload the skip...?

This has been on a few times by people.. Hope you get an answer soon if Robert Clark 's isn' t right but sounds good to me.

It is called the "Up" button. When you press it you will get a message on the dash saying something like "up button on" and a symbol on the dash will light up.
When assending or descending hills it holds the gears longer before changing up. A lot of people with heavy vans leave it on all the time. It resets when you turn the ignition off so you have to switch on after starting each time you use it.

Put it this way, you won't run out of LPG for ages.

Looks like the equivalent of the button on the dash of our Renault Master, marked "kg". Supposed to be used when heavily laden. Although, with our van max. weight of 3,500kg, I'm not sure of its usefulness. I guess it lowers the gear ratio or similar.

Thanks everyone, some very good answers I have to say! ?

the heavy load one even sounds real!

?

It keeps the van in a low gear when driving a heavy load uphill
Correctamundo! We've got Fiat Hill Holder, Hill Descent Control, and Traction Plus too:

Fiat hill holder
· The Fiat hill holder prevents the vehicle from rolling back when starting off on hills
without using the handbrake.
Hill Descent Control
· The Hill Descend Control helps you to maintain the required speed when driving
downhill without continually using the brake. This facility allows you to drive on roads
with a downhill gradient of up to 50%. Since you do not have to use the brake pedal
or the accelerator, all of your concentration can be focussed on steering.
Traction Plus
· The innovative traction control also provides you with drive on difficult terrain and
surfaces with low grip. If a drive wheel has little or no grip, the system prevents
wheelspin. The drive torque is transferred to the wheel with the best grip.
This maintains the directional stability of the vehicle.

Did I win a prize ?

Huge thanks everyone.

I need to get the manual out and read it again!

I have only driven the van twice since buying it, once to bring it home and the second to take it for its MOT just a day or so before lockdown! :-(
