The drop down sink in our washroom has developed an annoying habit of 'dropping down' whilst travelling!

It is obviously an 'interference fit' enabled by two screws with plastic (number plate type) covers on either side of the folded up sink. Is it possible to improve/adjust the fit to compensate for 10 years of wear, if so, is it simply a matter of flipping the top of the screw cover up and turning the screw anti-clockwise a bit at a time?

TIA
