DPF Cleaning

Has any one here had any experiance of having a DPF cleaned there is lots on the net about it but has anyone had it first hand and what was your out come.

Had to do the one on our Sprinter. We tried the regeneration routines with no success, so took it off, Mr Muscle Oven cleaner squirted in from both ends then left for an hour, rinse loads of crap out, then refit, total success.

So it is possible to clean it out yourself years ago I used to clean out my bike exhausts with caustic soda I assume it is a similar thing.

When i had my sensor issues I read up a lot.. A few people came up with the Mr Muscle solution

Ok latest update ran the van 25 miles up the road once it had got warm pulled like a train right up to 4,000 rpm so no limp mode and a strong smell of burning paraffin (Regenerating) but the bloody light stayed on.

Put a ob2 reader on pressure indifference fault took the little plastic sensor off checked as much as you can pipes clear terminals ok etc.

I did have a look at lots of PIS on line but no exact match due to values ie voltage/resistance so I reluctantly took it to Fiat £60 diagnostic and yes PIS another £300 supply and fit when it comes it stock.

This is the second one first failed at 5k this one lasted 16k I will write to Fiat about the sensors they fit failing but will not hold my breath for an answer but due to the fact it has been superseded by a new type/make tells me they have had problems with PIS on 2012 Euro 5 3.0 180. I will post the out come at the weekend.

Just had a call from Rockingham Fiat all done new sensor fitted and working and £100 less that the price quoted so quite pleased with the out come in the end.
