Arrived hot n bothered at Cirencester - needed break recovering from surgery. Plug in - mains ok but no in van electrics. I wanted to turn round n go home so quiet domestic but very heated. He who must be obeyed called a previous fantastic mobile engineer who promised to come asap. Meanwhile I googled dead control panel which seemed to be problem. After drowning in wonderful advice from technos I gave up HWMBO took dogs out to no doubt find a pub. Screen was green so I decided it couldn’t be leisure battery which I couldn’t find anyway. No idea what an inverter is or EHU. Some wonderful person had put a fuse panel picture on a forum and one of the fuses said SOS. To me that is a very serious fuse - have we got one methinks? So into garage and pull all fuses out - the only red one in the middle I give a special push. Can’t work out what the little pictures stand for!! Put fascia thing back and smack it. Go back in van and hey presto control panel blue!! Press centre button n all ok. Rang mobile St Launcelot n told him not to come out but needed to know what I’d done to fix it. He was wonderful and said he was there if it failed and probably I’d just refreshed a connection.
Very boring for you folks to read but the moral of the story is - never give up. There’s always sun after the storm
But I will be forever grateful to the mechanic cos knowing help was on the way made all the difference.
He was recommended and by golly he was refreshingly reliable. Not sure if I can advertise his number here but his first name is Jonathan he is Approved and covers Wiltshire Somerset and if course Gloucestershire.
Meanwhile will bask in my success as is my want and carry on fiddling cos ‘if it’s broke I need to know why’

Well done! It could be as simple as a fuse needing to reseated. They are an electrical/mechanical connection. If they come loose, or get some corrosion on them, they can make bad contact. Pulling them and reseating can physically scrape them to remove any corrosion that is causing issues and make them work again.

Yes please put number on, we are in South Gloucestershire but he might cover.

Good job! If in doubt, turn the power off, fiddle a bit, whack a few things, then power back on. Usually works for me too.

Definitely OK to include the engineer’s name and number, and a link to his website too, if good service received.

Lovely lovely man does everything including habitation, service n repair - everything really. And so reliable.
Wished he lived nearer. He was so patient and even rang back to make sure it was still ok.

So long as the 'whack a few things' doesn't include bashing hubby! :giggle:
