We went to our local dealer to start our search, but it’s so difficult to properly view the vans due to the new rules so we didn’t have as good a look as we would have liked. However definitely put us off the fixed French bed Set up - the one we looked in the bed was tiny we need a full sized double but I really want a fixed bed are they all tiny?

Our fixed french bed is fine, had one for 12 years now. Remember, buying a van is all about the layout IMHO.

Preferred the layout but I couldn't find a French bed long enough, so ended up with a transverse rear bed Cheyenne. A bit of a stretch to make the bed but very comfortable once done (y)

Our first Hymer a Tramp had a French bed, it was nearly 7 ft long.

Transverse bed, king size, in ours (I’m 6’3” and have space top and bottom!).

Twin beds for us. French ones were never big enough, or were odd shapes. If you can’t get good sleep, it can be a difficult holiday.
