I want to upgrade our diesel tank from 60 to 90 litres.
Its been suggested that we probably already have a 90 litre tank but Adria will have reduced the fill capacity to 60 litres as a weight saving exercise in order to meet the 3.5 tonne UK market.

Has anyone heard of this modification and if so can it be removed?
I spoke to my local Fiat dealership and they suggested any such modification would have been done by Adria, not Fiat, and hence they would simply replace the tank with a new 90litre one... at a cost of ~£1200 (part + fitting).

Fiat Ducato 2.3, 140bhp. Registered 2021.

the tanks come in 60l 90l etc, Adria will have specified the smaller tank, not altered the 90l one. £1200 for a plastic tank is a ridiculous price.
The OEM fiat one is £800 retail on ebay
A new copy about £200
A used OEM one is about £150

I saw this when we were looking for a van, went 4,250kg in the end.

Unless you read/speak German but chrome browser auto translate does a gute Arbeit.

Could this also apply to a Fiat based Hymer.

When Filling ours at the fuel station, the pump shuts off implying the tank is full, but vehicle fuel gauge says only two thirds full.

Or, am I barking at the wrong tree. Or, even, just barking :crying:

Here is a video showing you how to do it's in German, I played it on a PC & used Google translate on my phone. Once done you need to reprogram the ECU.
If you have Addblue I think you can oly go to 75Lt as that is the standard tank & the long range is now 90 Lt.

My 2022 Adria Twin, with auto box, has a 75L tank as standard for certain. Plus the 19L Adblue tank too
