Just starting out!
Hello all

Heading through the tunnel in a few weeks and would like to stop somewhere with facilities on the the french side within about an hour of Calais.

Will have kids and dog with us so prepared to pay for a site, arrival time will be late evening if that makes a difference.

Not done this before so any suggestions welcome.

After this stop we are heading south the the Alps (Ancelle) so looking to not travel in the direction of Paris.

Many thanks :)

A popular and fully equipped campsite just outside Calais is:-

I don’t think it’s the cheapest but if you want all ‘singing & dancing’ and easy to find this is it.

On the other hand you could save yourself a load of holiday money by stopping for the night on one of the several free Aires nearby.
As long as you have water and food, plus a loo you can survive a night or two.

We stayed at Le Bien Assise for a couple of days last week on our way home, we had only seen 3 brits in four weeks of touring, arrived there and it was full of them, had a meal in the restaurant and nipped across to Cité de Europe one night, all good but I thing the toilet blocks could do with an upgrade

Stayed at Noire Mottes in Sangatte last night, lovely little site and only 20 mins from tunnel.
