Morning Fusters,

We have bought a replacement decal sticker for our Swift Escape due to the habitation door being bashed on the side window in the wind so had caused the decal to spoil, does anybody know if you need to use a hair drier on warm to peel the old one off and then heat the decal to replace? or is there another method that is used. From what i have been reading this seems to be a common problem with swift and the doors flying open in the wind, so will be using a bungie to keep the door from flying open when this is fixed.

Any advise would be really great!

In the past the decal supplier has told me best method for their particular material. Hair dryer will probably help but don't stretch material too far.

Have had the same problem but mainly due to heat abroad. Have a specialist firm near to where i live and they will not touch taking off or replacing decals. Apparently the panels are varnished and if you were to put a hair dryer or other heat near it will affect the varnish and then it would be a real problem. I am going to wait until in warmer climes and see if the warm weather will do a natural job as has already and then replace new over the top. If you find another solution would be glad to learn

I had all mine replaced , by local company at coast2coast Truro , cost was reasonable at just below £400 , that was for removing and refitting new decals all round , 7'5 mtr motorhome .
Not worth the time and effort to remove myself etc.

Only one big one on starboard side has heat cracked.

How do they copy decals?

From pattern of old one removed? From photos?

How do they get colour match - which in my case is to 20yo, only slightly faded colour, although nobody could ever see the two sides 'together in one room'

Mine they photo,d , as to colour match they have a wide range an pick from the nearest , mine is only just over 5 years old but where it's parked on my drive , the drivers side got very bleached by sun also the original colours ran so the red under the black ended up mankey maroon and stained in patches
