Cubot X18 Plus mobile

Do the banking apps work on them?
I'd heard that only cheap Chinese phones that the banking apps are approved for were Cubot.

I had that problem with my previous phone , branded Leagoo , running android . After about a year of trouble free use I decided to install banking apps . Only found out then , the phone apparently was not compatible with or approved for use in banking apps.
Can anyone confirm that they have actually used banking apps on a Cubot? (Looking at the X18)
Having problems with my phone at the mo and my backup - a galaxy S3 is not supported by Barclays!

@Sheddy, and @beerdrinker1?

I just assumed (wrongly perhaps) that if your phone maker was on that list I linked to above, and came with Android/Google certification, then it would automatically work with Banking Apps.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Jock,

It is device specific I had a Lenovo previously that would not run my banking app after an upgrade to the app. It turned out that whilst Lenovo is on the certification list that specific model was produced before they were certified. The only way to find out if your device is certified is to go into google play store select settings and scroll down to the bottom, the certification status is displayed there.

editied to make it "Play Store"

The Nationwide, Tesco and Revolut apps all run on my Cubot Cheetah.

Thanks for the explanation John. (y)

I am hoping that the Cubot X18 Plus is covered, as I read on one forum that someone wasn't happy about the lack of certification for their X18. Cubot Admin replied, that it had since been added. I'll just have to wait and see.

Cheers,

Mel, where did you and Hubby order yours from, and how long did they take to arrive please?

Cheers,

Jock. :)
Got them from Gearbest, ordered both (separate orders) on 8 October and paid £93 for each and an extra £1.73 to get them a bit earlier than just using the standard free delivery, so 11 & 12 days respectively. They've got them on offer at the moment for £96.39 with a choice of gold, black or pale blue.

Thanks Mel. :)

I went with Gearbest knowing that you had used them before, and were happy with the service. Unfortunately, I'm still waiting for my order, originally placed on 3rd October. :(

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Edit............Tracking info shows arrival in UK @ 05.18 hrs on 21st October, so hopefully receipt in a day or two.
