Would it be possible to use the increased size hole you now have in your basin, and fit a bigger waste?

No the material is so thin it would not hold a new plug assembly.

There is a Carado group on Facebook that has some info on this. I don’t really use the site apart from for this group which is very good. I believe it is a common problem and others have done as Landy Andy suggested.

The sink has fractured and the drain has fallen through.

The hole is 62 dia, do they do drains that big?

Hi thanks to everyone for their answers you were a great help. In the end I replaced the plug assembly, for a. Bigger one, if anyone has the same problem i bought the plug assembly from Amazon.

Well done, good fix. Were any additional alterations required for the waste hose connection, or are the outlets the same size ?

The outlets were the same size, but i had to buy some more pipe and connector to make a u bend.
I'm going to Hereford for 5 days that should be a good trial. If it crashes and burns I'll post it

I see you have sorted it ingeniously. You can get exact replacement sinks from Carado/Sunlight and also from the enormous range offered by Movera (the Hymer Group accessories and parts arm, based next door to Hymer in Bad Waldsee).

This is the new plug assembly installed, note the small cracks. I used sealant on everything and built up the area around the plug as this area is very thin.

Thanks for the info, i will make a note of it. This was a £20 fix, i thought it was worth a punt, as a new sink was £200.

Hi, a replacement plastic sink is much less than that, £29-£41 Also there are some UK sources like Magnum, O'Reilly, Leisureparts etc
