Can anyone give me an idea of how much current a small portable 12v compressor cool box draws? I know they have an on-off duty cycle, so an idea of average Ah' s would be useful.

I've an indelB TB15 - small portable compressor fridge and the book says it draws 35W (just under 3A), doesn't say if thats
average so assume thats when it's on power cycle

Mine draws 2.5 to 3 amps when running.
Usually starts off at 3 amps and reduces a bit when the box temperature falls.

The run time varies massively with set point and ambient temperature. I had it set on -5 in Benidorm and it was running most of the time ☹️

Just as well there’s plenty sun to power it when it’s working it’s most

Mine is a medium size and draws 5A when running. How often that is depends on ambient and set temperature and how often opened. If used as a freezer it runs pretty much constantly.

We have a Dometic CX35 set at -10c cycles about 50% 40 - 50 amps a day av in Portugal between Nov to Jan

I have an Alpicool K25 which functions as a fridge or freezer (not both simultaneously). It uses a lot less as a fridge (it states 1kwh every 3-4 days with the right settings, I keep mine on Eco) and the 12v system copes easily with this off-grid as I have a Fogstar 300ah lithium battery and 400w solar though the previous 95A AGM coped with it as well. I'm currently using it as a freezer for meat as I'm on ehu at a quite remote campsite in Spain (camping Sierra Espuña) for the next few weeks so I stock up when visiting Mercadona at Alhama de Murcia, I'm using the main fridge as well.
I've had no problems with it and use it as a fridge instead of the three-way fridge when off-grid.

We have a fairly large one ran it all last summer at -18 it was in the garage and I did a bodged 38 mm pir board and tape jacket around it it ran apx 40%of the time during the day 1/2 that at night around 3ah when running now replaced it with a 240v 2door fridge freezer,so the cool box will be up for sale when I get round to it
