Hi looking at purchasing chausson welcome 610 motorhome but dont know a great deal about them any advice

I have a 610 flash and love it! Have spent several weeks at a time living in it for work, and lots of holidays.
Anything specific you want to know?
Also there is a very good Facebook page called chausson owners group and you can get loads of help and advice there.

Hi
Just wanted to know about build quality and if you knew of any issues not had a motorhome before and just want to make the right decision
Do you know if they have frost control

Had 2 chsussons - a 510 which is like a 610 but no garage & our current van a 627 GA which is fixed beds over a large garage.

Build quality has been good - have had a problem with panoramic front window that was rectified - nothing else.

Re 'frost control', Chaussons are adequately winterised as far as a coach built can be -no external pipework & all internal plumbing ran next to heat ducts.Diesel heating very effective especially the newer Truma 6DE which is much quieter than then eberspacher fitted on older Van's. Truma thermostat works well. Have used several times skiing in the Alps with no problems.

One issue with a 610 could be the sleeping arrangement- give a lot of thought to not having a fixed bed - we changed after a year with a drop down! Some may point out electric drop down beds can have issues but we never encountered problems.

Must admit sometimes missing the large lounge the drop down bed gives you but overall prefer a fixed bed.

Hope that helps

One concern is if the electric bed stops working, mine hasn’t, but then it would have to be manually moved with a winder.
As far as the drop down bed, it does give you an awful lot more lounging space than a fixed rear bed. But as pointed out, for some it can be inconvenient that you both have to go to bed and get up at the same time. In practice this is no problem at all for us, but others might struggle with it. I have actually found that one person can sit in a swivelled front seat if the bed is lowered, and if the weather is good, a lark might just sit outside with a cuppa whilst the owl is still sleeping.
Build quality I have had no problems but some do....

Only issue with our 510 was a leaking window, fixed by dealer
Drop down bed only one issue in three years and 17k miles ,of ownership.
Stoped working, but manual crank up to top and reset the stop. Microswith button and all ok.
Used it with grandchildren in , they slept on seats under bed. It’s a faff to make up the guest bed, and we would not wish to use it as a 4 berth fir more than a couple of nights.

Build quality seems ok. All screws are overed with a sticky bit of “paperl in same style as wallboard, and all major joints covered with plastic tops, so not as appealing as some. But a least you can see how it’s put together!

Seats comfortable for us
We bought it for the drop down bed and 6mtr. restriction of our drive length.
Guess it’s like all vans purchases, compromises and budget.

We have a 638EB welcome bought from new 2 years ago.We chose it for its fixed double bed in 6.5 m vehicle so it fits on the drive. No significant problems, seems solidly built and we've used it all year round in GB and done one Europe trip.
I'd buy another Chausson and they seem competitively priced.
