As from midnight tonight 8th June, the chat logging feature will be turned back on and all chats will become public. This will mean that any Funster can, if they choose, see the chat history of that day. They will also see the last five lines of chat when they log in. Private messages between chatters will remain private.

Please do not use the chat room for private conversations that you would rather others not see. This chat room is a public place - Just as in the forum, do not say anything in the chat room that you might later regret or that I might ultimately be responsible for!

Seems I have a problem logging on to chat room. Have never used it before but now I have tried I can't log on. Any advice?

On another note about not getting into Chat. ... I have sat for two hours to get onto my dongle. Then got on and on here and made one post and got cut off again. Now back on but for how long..... couldn't get onto dongle at all last night. Really really fed up.

Any suggestions welcome as I did miss my Chat last night

I think that the chat room code is only reading your name until the "&" I have replaced this with an "and" try and get in now.

Does the "Open Message History" button (the one that looks like speech bubbles in the top-right corner) show you a day's worth? I just tried it in the test room and it remembers more than the main window.

Er....scrap that suggestion....just went back in and message history shows nothing :Sad:

To see the chat room history

1. log in to chat
2. Log into room
3. Click the Speech Bubble Icon (top of the chat window)
4. Click on Public Log (bottom left)

That just shows me who entered and exited the chat room, not a log of all the day's communications. Have I misunderstood what you meant by a full day's chat history?

Its shows the last 20 odd hours, anything prior is deleted, gone forever

Spent almost 3 hours trying to get into chat room.
Downloaded all updates, Flash, Java etc, still nothing.
Just refuses to load.
Always had trouble but never this bad...

Sorry you have problems with chat, If possible, try another browser, if that works you know its as local issue. If that does not work please shout here again

OK...maybe it's my non-Windows setup. I'll try it in the quiz room tomorrow...I'll arrive just before 8pm and see how much of the existing day's chat I can view.

a) Just had phone re Tony - he STILL cannot get into chat.

b) Neil, I tried too to view last twenty hours or so and I couldn't view it either. After a few tries I got kicked out. All I got was who entered and who left but no chat.

I've sorted out why it's not appearing here...it's the unusual browser I tend to use as default. Everything else (Firefox/Safari on Mac, IE/Firefox/Safari on XP) allows me to view the postings from a few hours ago when I follow Jim's directions and use the "Public Log" button.

You're not using a Sinclair Spectrum to access the chat rooms are you?

Could be useful for people kicked off chat due to dodgy dongles..which seems to be an ongoing problem at the moment. The main window only shows the last 5 lines of chat.
