Does anybody have a wiring diagram for the revering camara for a Carthago Chic C line 2018

or know how /were the cable runs, mine been flickering for a while, I though it might be the single line? But now its going off for long periods, pressing the blue power button brings it back for a while, sometimes half an hour sometimes a few mins. It is the same when reversing.

It is wired to be on all the time the ignition is on.

I have previously looked at the display connections and all seemed ok, I but I will cheek again tomorrow. How easy is it to get to the camara connections?

Or can anybody recommend somebody knowledgeable near Doncaster?

Hi Scout
Have you managed to resolve anything? It appears that we’re both in the same boat.
Absolute nightmare to find anything on cable runs, fuse locations etc.

The camera itself can be prized out of its housing which reveals a small black cable. (Can’t get to any connection)
Would I be right in thinking that this black wire houses a live/earth and video feed?

Can anybody help who has more knowledge?

Where the camera lead enters the MH, in ours it's in an overbed locker, you should be able to find a joint where it plugs into the cabling. In ours this can come loose and gives issues with the image on the monitor. I knew it wasn't the monitor as the distance lines were still showing but no rear view image.

With thanks to Minxy i have found the 6 pin mini din connection.
At least now I can plug another camera into it to find out if it’s a faulty camera or a power supply problem from the monitor.

Does anybody know where to pick one of these up. Preferably, without having my pants pulled down! 😂😂

Unfortuantely it won't be a cheap option to get a new camera and you'd need to check which one was the updated version for your system - you can get cheapish twin rear view/reversing cameras on Ebay but the connections would need to be correct:

Our C-Tourer (149LE) cabling runs down behind the sink / cupboards. May be of use for fault finding? The dealers are issued with a "book" showing all the wiring routes so maybe worth a chat with them if it is the cable and not the camera.

I think Eddie @ Vanbitz uses Waeco Dual lens rear view cameras, that's what he fitted on ours when we picked up the van.
Give them a call, it cant hurt.

You could ring Go European's service centre guys, they are very helpful and really do know their stuff regarding Carthagos.

Hopefully more helpful than southdowns yesterday.
“Yeah they always go mate, Take it to our service centre”

I’d been as well to ask my dog 🐶 what he knew about fuses/routing/camera make etc 🙂

No, no further forwards m afraid, I joined the Carthago owner club and did some research on their facebook pages, it seems its more common than I thought as quit a lot of people have the same problem. One member said it was traced to a faulty earth connection, which goes down to front lights and is taken from there?

I took off my screen mount and theres a multi din plug , but it seems tight enough and a good connection. I followed the wire (black) and it goes under the dash, so I could go no further there. Looking in the back next to wardrobes there's trunking either side, but no sign of a video/power cable, so Im thinking it must be routed between the skins ??

We have been away and it was ok during the outward leg, but coming it was flickering then going on and off, Im thinking of going to talk to Premium Motors who are only 15 mins from me, they were the original suppling dealers. It seems this a common problem so somebody should know how to fix it.

I'll report back should I get to find out. If not Im thinking of ripping it out and fitting a new one

UPDATE: I have this morning been to Premium motorhomes at Bawtry, Ive spoken to the service reception who are emailing me with prices for

A: inspection of the wiring

B: replacement of the monitor head

They told me they have had a few in lately with similar problems so hopefully will have some idea of what's going on.

Does anybody know how the dash comes apart in case they quote stupid prices, I do hate paying for stuff I should be able to sort myself

That nail polish really suits you Brian😁😁

Are you still messing about with that old Carthago? Thought you would have a new one by now? Anyhow, Scout has been to Bawtry so I’d better check my camera and monitor are still there when I get home, we don’t like spending money us Yorkshire folk!!🤣🤣🤣🤣

Btw lovely Morelo in the lay-by this morning overnighting to head up there for some work done👍
