Just discovered another benefit of being a member of the C & MC.

We have been away in the MH since 14 October 2018. About 7 weeks of this was at Bonterra Park, Benicassim, Spain. We like the site for a lot of reasons but were unable to stay any later than 5 January 2019 because there "was a rally coming".

So we pottered down the coast staying at different places and as we start thinking towards getting the train back from Calais on 19 March, tried to book online at Bonterra for a couple of weeks on our bay back to catch up with friends before taking a week to get to Calais. Tried a few times online, always fully booked
I knew that it was the C&MC who had booked the pitches so contacted their Winter Sun dept 01342 316101. We were very efficiently booked on the same Gold pitches that we had to leave on 5 Jan, for two weeks starting 26 Feb at £15 (abt €17) per night plus electricity.( we spent about €2 a week last time)

If I had been able to book with Bonterra online, we would probably ended up in the Green pitches amongst the trees at their rate of €20.

So not exactly the lottery but a little bit back towards the membership of the C&MC and we got to be where we wanted!

We were reassured that we wouldn't have to attend any organised get-togethers.

And you didn't need to book your crossing with them, unlike the camping and caravan club, or they charged a £75 fee. Bob.

We used to stay at Playa Tropicana, Alcossebre for a couple of months until Christmas, the C&CC rally started beginning of January so we always left, not being rally types.

One year a picture of the rally at Tropicana was on their Winter Sun brochure, the row we were on was full of tables end to end for some sort of 'do', don't need to join in though, with that right outside your van!!

Hope that doesn't happen to you!

We had the same thing last year couldn’t get onto roquets but the C&MC got us on. They do have some plus points. Plus very helpful staff on the phone

I'm still smarting over the C&CC's £75 fee for them not booking the ferry, so I decided to go to the nearby aires instead. Even cheaper.

Heard about the £75 fee last year. Need to amend that as it’s over the top and a customer loser. Lost us.

@matamoros Thanks, we have encountered that on sites before without there being rallies on and quickly learned to politely decline the invitation. Not our thing either.
