We've left it late to book for this friday one night only stop over on Northumberland borders not far from A1. Any suggestions of places which may still have availability?

Try the Hadrians Wall campsite - they may be busy though.

Ooops, perhaps too far from the A1, sorry!

If your a member of the CCC there is a Temporary Holiday site at Beadnell (no ehu) this is just a few miles off the A1 South of Bamburgh.

Look on searchforsites, camperstops , and find a pub stopover for one night.
There’s a good one at Ripon 5 minutes off the A1, not near the borders though.

Google “Eat Sleep Lindisfarne” at Beal it’s 200 yards off the A1 10 miles South of Berwick. Phone them as they allow motorhomes to overnight if you eat there, it’s locally sourced sensibly priced food beautifully cooked.

try Paxton house, just off the a1 near Berwick. £15.00 a night and nice walks round the grounds and by the tweed.

A long way indeed Andrew, I live a couple of miles from that campsite it’s 34 miles to Denton roundabout then a 65 mile trek up the A1 to Berwick.

Too far for a pint of milk then Stewart :D

There is a small campsite on the Newcastle side of Alnwick just past the services. It has hard standing with water, toilet empty and ehu. The last time we were there it was £14 per night. The owners live next to it in the b&b. There is a pub/restaurant a very short walk, with a Sainsburys nearby.

If you just want a stopover there's Alnwick rugby club, £10 + £5 if you want EHU,water and dump.

I've stayed at Riverside leisure park just south of Wooler when I was up there scuba diving the Farne Islands.... Visited Bamburg Castle while I was there too.. Lovely part of the world

Love Paxton might have a couple of nights next week.

Campsite in our village, it's called South Meadows but bit pricey, 2 mins off A1.
