Looking to visit the city of Newcastle in October. Anyone recommend a site as close as possible to the city or in the city?

If it's just an overnight stay try the YourParkingSpace app, usually hotel and supermarkets but choose carefully and there are some decent, safe park ups.

I had an elderly relative and we tried to visit regularly for the last couple of years.

Really struggled to find a convenient site anywhere close in. Metro is great but couldn’t even find a site close to a station.

Ended up going up on train just for a day at a time!

That’s a canny site. Decent chippy and pub almost next to it too.
Regular buses direct into Newcastle centre and metro centre so a handy place.

The is also the caravan club site at New Hartley but not as great with transport.

Backworth Miners Welfare (NE27 0AH ) is a Campra Aire. £10 night has water/ black waste disposal all hard standing, also has a toilet. Bar on site. Bus at gate to Newcastle or short walk to Metro station.
We use it often when visiting family.

Just looked at the Derwent site and realised we went there about 15 years ago, wife wanted to go to the Trafford centre.

Whoops slight mistake with the name :ROFLMAO:
She's been to so many it's hard to keep track. Metro centre

Last week we stayed on the motorhome stop at Tynedale Rugby Club, down by the railway station in Corbridge, Northumberland. It's an easy train journey into Newcastle Central Station, but Corbridge is also a lovely village with lots of really nice shops and places to eat and drink. The motorhome stop is £12/nt - no EHU, but water and waste facilities are easily accessible.
