We need to start filling our Campsite Database. Its easy to do, just follow these simple instructions.
  1. Click on>> "Reviews" then >> "Campsite Reviews"
  2. Choose the location of the site, UK Europe or beyond
  3. Click on "Upload Items" which is on the right
  4. Click "Submit"
  5. Fill in as many details as possible, Add a picture from the campsites web page if you can.
  6. Click "Upload"
Always add the "Town" and "County" correctly as these will probably be search keywords that we will use most when looking for a camp site, Its easy, you can edit your own entry if you are not happy, and then others can come along and rate it as well.

Once we have a few in with the Sat Nav coordinates we can then start to build our own Campsite map. So please , c'mon, lets get uploading.

Jim, I think we need a common way of entering Sat Nav coordinates if you plan to map our entries. There is no point in entering new campsites if we don't have a common way of doing it.
There are different ways of recording Lat. & Long. & we need to make sure we have the one that will make it simple to use when constructing the database map. In Autoroute there are Decimal degrees or Degrees/Minutes/seconds
It needs someone who haas an understanding of the requirements that are needed to map the database to decide which is best.

Hi,

I have asked this before will there be a way of downloading the database to a laptop, as i have added entries to quiet a number of other web site databases only to find they are not down loadable so i end up reverting to my ACSI DVD or my campingcarinfo CD or my ASCI card book, CC Europe book etc etc, therefore making the online database unusable.

So please is is possible to download the database to a laptop, and keep it updated as it grows

Thanks
Brian

Just added a site and had the following problems

Confusion over the first two fields, did not know what to enter and ended up with a repeat of the campsite name

Boxes I ticked, electrics, etc are not filled in

and lastly I would have though someone would check what I had done before it was made puplic

other than that ok

Ralph

ps

items one and two now changed

Thanks

Don

there are now two places to add Turkish campsites, in
Turkey, Greece, Balkan Peninsula
or in
Turkey

But I assume one will be removed soon.

Ralph,

Thanks, I missed Jims post.:Blush:

I'll now explore the campsite data base:Eeek::Eeek:

That was a wasted exercise

I have not got a clue where to start.:Blush:

Ralph how did you manage to enter the camp site details, it's totally beyond me:Blush:

Don

Croatia

I found that getting into the database to post a campsite review is a little convoluted, however I think I've worked it out so will have a go.

It was not that simple, I think we will have to work on it, I used to write manuals so I could knock something up if required, but I
also think we need a final format for the database first.

Has this been fixed or is it me doing something wrong?

Hi Ralph, we have had a couple of requests about having the database downloadable, that is not possible with the review set up we have at the moment. Also we do not feel that he review section is going to be flexible enough to store the campsite database in th elong term. So... We are working on a solution at the mo and I will keep you posted on the progress. Thanks.

I think it would be a good idea if we re-entered the name of the country the site is in, in the first box "Enter the Item Manufacturer if a product For example Auto-Trail or Fiamma:" as country doesn't show up on the "Recent Items - Campsite Reviews" page. If you know what I mean, or what should we put there?

Ralph

Just added a couple of sites and the tick boxes still do not work properly.
