Hi all, can anyone recommend a good camping site down in Almeria staying for about 5-7 days? Specifically, around Mojacar, Arboleas, Albox area?

I have a small, 6 metre MH and it will be just me travelling. I have had a look online but personal recommendation (or not) is always a good thing to hear too.

Im not looking for anything really fancy as I dont expect to be on site every day, as long as there is a bar on site for the evening or within walking distance and food shop, showers etc then that would be fine.

Im hoping to get down there either at the end of this month or early next to do some house hunting and hope to avoid the school / Easter holidays too.

Also, for those who have been before, is it better to book online prior to arrival, or just turn up and take a chance? Im not a member of any camping or MH clubs or organisations either.

Many thanks in advance for any suggestions or advice.

Rick

We stayed at camping Cuevas Palomares in February. Nice site close to the beach and it'san ACSI site.

The end of April beginning of May it shouldn't be necessary to book. Except for Easter it's a quieter period.

Just booked DFDS Newhaven to Dieppe ferry. Out at @1100 on 22/04/24, Return on 06/05/24 @2359. Including the "seniors" 20% discount it was £220.40.

We don't use a lot of sites whilst abroad but we did like camping el quinto in Mojacar. It doesn’t have a bar as such but chilled out seating to sit with your own drinks and mix with different nationalities. You can walk up the hill into Mojacar or get the bus down to Mojacar player. I couldn't get my hubby to leave 😁

We had a few nights at Camping Cueva Negra a few years ago. Nice pitches, great pool, short walk to large beach. Has a small bar, friendly site. Just over the hill from Mojocar.

You could always stop a couple of nights at the marina aire at Almerimar. Plenty of bars and restaurants.

Thanks everyone. I will check out the sites suggested here. Im also going to contact a few of the estate agents down there and see if they have any recommendations or places that their visiting viewing clients regularly use.

Rick@62 be interested where you find as we are looking in similar area for early 2026
Will let you know on here. One of the estate agents has suggested a place called Los Gallordos Leisure in or just outside of Albox.

Looked at that one previously, looks a nice site, but didn't appear to have much around it or any walks into a local town...
