Calibration of a Nordelettronica Fresh water level gauge

Has anyone had any experience with a Nordelettronica Fresh water level gauge, I have recently replaced my existing gauge with a new one that a friend got me who lives in France. However when I replaced the gauge I have struggled to calibrate it, I have filled the water tank to full and tried adjusting the 2 potentiometers with a small screw driver but the best I have managed is a reading of around 45% that then goes back to 0%. Any assistance would be very much appreciated.

yes identical, the one in the pictures is the one I removed.
