Hi, how do I find out if my application has moved into the in tray yet, or is it still in the post room with all the rest, they have cashed the cheque but I have not heard from them yet ,sent early August , I know some of you have been waiting a long time.

If stopped i will explain that i am driving under section 88 of the road traffic act.
I also carry the papertrail with me in a folder.
Had to use it once, and the policeman was very undestanding,

I've found in the past that it nearly always appears on the DVLA website before it arrives in the post...

Don’t forget that Section 88 only applies in the U.K.
If you want to go abroad you are snookered.

About 2010 mine was a waiting a medical decision, I told them I was going abroad so they sent me a letter, which they said would cover me.
No idea if it would have as I wasn't asked to show it.

Application sent 24th June, sent 2 emails but just computer generated replies stating can't give any information and not to bother to chase up application by phone!!

I started my C1 application back in May 2021. I won't bore you to much but because of the delays in processing I had to then have another eye test and then because of further delays renew my photo. Under normal circumstances my licence would have run from around the end of May 2021 to May 2024. The upside of this delay is that as my medical had gone through OK I could continue to drive under section 88. My new licence was finally renewed on the 11th of January 2022 and runs to January 2025.
